Message from the President
Dear Campus Community,
The University will resume classes and normal operations tomorrow (Friday, September 13). Fortunately, campus has power and did not sustain any major damage to its grounds or facilities during Hurricane Francine.
However, I recognize that there are some members of our community who may be without power, as well as those who are still dealing with damage and flooding to their homes and vehicles brought on by the storm. If students have circumstances that prevent them from attending class tomorrow or completing assignments, they should contact their instructors directly. Similarly, employees should contact their supervisors. I hope we will approach these challenges with a spirt of flexibility and cooperation.
I am very grateful for amazing work of our Residence Life, Campus Safety, Campus Dining, Facilities and other team members who supported our residential students throughout this event and prepared campus for our return tomorrow.
With Privateer Pride,
Kathy Johnson, Ph.D. President
