About
Zarus E. P. Watson, PhD, LPC, NCC, is Associate Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator of the Counselor Education Graduate Program at the 91直播. He received his BA from Tulane University and his MA and PhD in Counselor Education/Research Methods from the 91直播. Dr. Watson's primary focus of research, including journal articles and chapter publications, are in the areas of social systems theory and social influence, systemic conditioning mechanisms, identity development, trans-generational trauma among socially ascribed groups and communities, and multicultural/diversity issues in organizational systems. Dr. Watson has consulted with non-profit agencies, faith-based organizations, K-12 school systems and business and industry in the areas of contextual and mixed-method program evaluation, task group functionality, executive coaching, and organizational diagnostics utilizing a "systems-as-client" approach. In addition, he has over sixty presentations and seminars covering culture and socialization processes across multiple settings, groups and contexts. Dr. Watson is the past president of the Louisiana Association of Multicultural Counseling and Development. He is also a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor, as well as a qualified mediator in the State of Louisiana.
