Insurance

Students, faculty and staff who are participating in Study Abroad programs sponsored by the 91ֱ�� and who are temporarily engaged in educational activities while outside the U.S.A. will automatically participate in this Plan by Zurich Insurance Company. Insured participants such as faculty and staff may purchase additional dependent coverage.

This insurance policy covers emergency medical, medical repatriation and medical evacuation, hospital admission and medical expenses, and coverage for return of remains. The cost of this insurance is included in the program cost. For details regarding the coverage of the Plan, please view the insurance brochure. Please note, this insurance will provide coverage for diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 to the same extent as it would for any other medical conditions covered per the terms of this insurance.

Note: Enrollment in the Study Abroad Insurance Plan is required for all students participating in 91ֱ�� Study Abroad Programs. All study abroad students should download and print the travel insurance card. Students need to write their name on it and carry it with them while abroad.

Period of Coverage

Coverage is provided on a 24-hour basis for the duration of travel, commencing from the time of leaving one's home address until returning back to one's home address at the conclusion of the covered trip.

If participants wish to purchase additional coverage for travel outside the program dates for more than two weeks before or after the program, they can visit the to explore all the coverage options and contact them by e-mailing mail@oncallinternational.com.

Using the Insurance While Abroad

During the program, you may find the need to use the health insurance plan. The Zurich Travel Assist provider, On Call International, can help you locate health care providers in your abroad location. You can email GallagherZurich@hsri.com to start the claim process to have the insurance make payments for your medical expenses. When starting your claim, provide your name, location, program dates, and date of birth.
Making a Reimbursement Claim

In the event you paid out of pocket for a medical claim and are seeking reimbursement for that medical claim:

Please email your completed claim form as well as copies of all doctors' bills and proof of payment (receipts) to GallagherZurich@hsri.com and the Gallagher Global Risk Team will assist with all reimbursement claims to ensure timely reimbursement to travelers.

You will have 90 days to make the claim after the medical visit/treatment. Reimbursements may be received after about 30 days. You can refer to the travel insurance card you will be provided for more instructions.
