The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering provides affordable, quality undergraduate and graduate education in the areas of electrical and computer engineering. In order to support the urban mission of the University, the emphasis in the electrical engineering undergraduate program is in serving both the traditional and non-traditional student in the New Orleans and surrounding regions. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.). Within the B.S.E.E. degree, students have the option to pursue a concentration in computer engineering. Students pursuing majors in other disciplines can also pursue a Minor in Electrical Engineering to enhance their knowledge in this exciting engineering field.

The department has a strong commitment to academic scholarship and its faculty participate in the Master's and Ph.D. level programs in the Dr. Robert A. Savoie College of Engineering and to perform research with graduate students.
