Welcome!
The 91Ö±²¥ Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (UNO CLACS) provides UNO students with in-classroom and extra mural opportunities to learn about Latin America and Latin American transnational communities. Whether it is through the Interdisciplinary Minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, the BA/IS Concentration in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Year-long International Student Exchange Programs, or one of our Study Abroad Programs, the Center is here to promote awareness of the cultural diversity and socio-political complexity of Latin America and the Caribbean and the regions’ long-standing connections to New Orleans and the United States.
The Center also provides academic mentorship for undergraduate and graduate students interested in developing independent research projects in New Orleans and abroad related to Latin American and Caribbean history, politics, economics and culture. The UNO CLACS also supports world-class scholarship through its yearly conference and workshop program, putting New Orleans on the map of Latin American Studies. Please visit our other pages to learn more about undergraduate and graduate educational opportunities or to find out the details of our past conferences and follow us on social media to stay informed about our upcoming events!
