Organization and Chapter History
Kappa Alpha Psi was founded the night of January 5, 1911 on the campus of Indiana University at Bloomington, Indiana. The fraternity was originally chartered and incorporated as Kappa Alpha Nu on April 15 of the same year. The name was later changed to Kappa Alpha Psi at the Fourth Grand Chapter Meeting.
The charter line of Lambda Omicron crossed in the Fall of 1981. The chapter started with eleven members: Phillip Batiste, Andrew D. Carbon, Charles Davis, Don Green, the late Thomas Hagen, Loronzo Hutton, Lyn Miles, the late Mark Van Petteway, Barry Pitts, Stephen Walker, and Marvin Young. The chapter was chartered on March 26, 1983.
