UNO Announces Marketing Week
UNO Marketing Week is designed to help interested students, particularly marketing majors, polish their skills as they prepare for careers in marketing, said Professor of Marketing Pamela Kennett-Hensel, who is also chair of the University's marketing department. This year Marketing Week runs from Monday through Friday, Oct. 21-25. The College of Business Administration's Department of Marketing and Logistics has scheduled guest speakers in all marketing classes. More than 20 leading marketers from around the region will speak to UNO students.
Ann Tuennerman, who received her Bachelor of Science degree from UNO in 1996 is the week's keynote speaker. She will give a talk called "The Brand Called You" at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 in Kirschman Hall, Room 122.
Ann Tuennerman is the founder and executive director of Tales of the Cocktail, the world's premier cocktail festival, which draws thousands of cocktail professionals and enthusiasts to New Orleans each year. Ann Tuennerman provides the vision and strategic direction for each year's festival, working directly with mixologists, bartenders, spirits brands and media outlets to bring each of the 200-plus events to life. Ann Tuennerman and her husband Paul also run the New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society (NOCCPS), a non-profit organization committed to preserving the unique culture of cocktails and cuisine in New Orleans and beyond by funding apprenticeships, grants, scholarship programs and more.
Ann Tuennerman's work has also garnered a number of local, national and international awards including being featured in City Business, Gambit and MORE magazine as well as receiving the BNIC Cognac Personality of the Year Award and the prestigious D'USSE Cognac Tom Bullock Award for Service and Leadership from DC Toasts.
