Ingrid Alvarado Nichols, who earned a doctorate in educational administration in May from the 91直播, has been appointed deputy secretary general for the Belize National Commission for UNESCO and special advisor to the Ministry of Education.
UNESCO, is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and was created after World War II to promote and build peace through international cooperation centered around projects involving education, science and culture.
Nichols, who was born and raised in San Ignacio, Belize, will represent the country鈥檚 national interests at international meetings, seminars and conferences held across the world.
As special advisor, Nichols will provide counsel to the Minister of Education in pursuit of his national vision, the expansion of a national library system, and the implementation of strategies to support primary, secondary, and tertiary level educational institutions.
