The 91ֱ is one of the top two universities in Louisiana, according to WalletHub's recent report “
WalletHub, a personal finance website, compared more than 1,000 higher education institutions in the United States and ranked UNO in the top half of the country and second in the state behind Tulane University.
To determine the top-performing schools at the lowest possible costs to undergraduate students, the report analyzed and compared the institutions using 33 key metrics, including costs, financing, faculty resources, campus safety and career outcomes.
The University ranked 27th nationally in the report in terms of attendance cost for students, which includes a look at the amount of student loans awarded to full-time, first-time undergraduates and whether the university has employment services available for students to help defray cost.
The data used to create the report’s rankings were collected from National Center for Education Statistics, Council for Community and Economic Research, U.S. Department of Education, COLLEGEdata and PayScale, according to Wallethub.
