The excellence in counseling research grant is a competitive program that only funds six counseling research projects each year from around the country.
Mifsud’s proposal, "Exploring Community- and Society-Level Interventions for Healing Historical Trauma: A Grounded Theory Study" was granted full funding of $2,214. The grant will help support the research study Mifsud is conducting for her doctoral dissertation.
“We're very proud of Anabel's work and we're glad to see her being recognized by one of the largest counseling-related organizations in the world,” said Chris Belser, an assistant professor in the counselor education program.
Mifsud holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Malta and a master’s in health psychology from the University College London and King's College London.
