The 91ֱ’ School of the Arts will open its on Wednesday, Sept. 20 with jazz performances by Brad Walker + Extended. Musical Excursions brings musical performances from acclaimed artists from around the world as part of the series.
Each performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center’s Recital Hall. Admission is free for UNO students, faculty and staff with proper ID. General admission is $15, with $10 tickets available for seniors and 91ֱ alumni.

Wednesday, Sept. 20: Brad Walker + Extended ft. Peter Varnado (drums) and Monica Rose Kelly (Light Painting). Brad Walker pairs up once again with the critically acclaimed Extended Trio: Oscar Rossignoli, Matt Booth and special guest Peter Varnado for an evening performance of their highly anticipated joint project “Side By Side.” Alongside the musical performance Light Painter Monica Rose Kelly will be projecting stunning atmospheric art live, to complement the music.
Oct. 5: Byron Asher and Guests
Byron Asher is a saxophonist, clarinetist and composer based in New Orleans and working at the intersection of broadly experimental composition and jazz and improvised music.
Oct. 17: Ilya Yakushev
Russian pianist Ilya Yakushev, with many awards and honors to his credit, continues to astound and mesmerize audiences at major venues on three continents.
Nov. 30: IGNIS Woodwind Quintet
IGNIS is an award-winning ensemble committed to unlocking the expressive potential of the wind quintet medium. IGNIS are Lisa Choi (flute), Nathaniel Wolff (oboe), Kyle Glasgow (clarinet), Molly Flanagan (horn) and Christian Whitacre (bassoon)
