91ֱ counselor education doctoral student Krystyn Dupree is the winner of a 2024 American College Counseling Association’s Student Research Grant. She accepted the award last month at the association’s annual conference in Orlando.
The Kentwood, La. native, who is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor, was honored for her dissertation research, which is being chaired by UNO assistant professor Michelle Wade.
“With more conversations happening about college mental health, I hope to explore the views of those directly providing mental health services on college campuses,” Dupree said. “My dissertation research plans to explore how college counselors providing these services perceive their role within higher education.”
Dupree has a bachelor degree in psychology and a master of arts in counseling with a concentration in clinical mental health, both from Northwestern State University. She is employed as the assistant director of the University Counseling Center at Nicholls State in Thibodaux.
