About
Guang Tian, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of the Transportation Studies Program and coordinator of the GIS graduate certificate at the 91直播. His interests and research focus on land use and transportation planning, travel behavior and built environment, sustainability and climate change, and quantitative methods (statistics, GIS, machine learning, AI, etc.). Dr. Tian is also the director of Center for Equitable Transit-Oriented Communities (CETOC)- a U.S. Department of Transportation designated University Transportation Center. CETOC focuses on preserving the environment by promoting transit access, multimodal infrastructure, compact and efficient land use patterns, as well as resilience and climate adaptation. Dr. Tian's research has been funded by U.S. Department of Transportation, National Institute of Transportation and Communities, Land Economics Foundation, Louisiana Transportation Research Center, Louisiana Board of Regents, Regional Transit Authority, Utah Department of Transportation, Utah Transit Authority, Wasatch Front Regional Council, etc. Dr. Tian has published academic research in peer-reviewed journals of transportation, planning, and geography, including Transportation, Transportation Research Part D, Journal of Transport Geography, Journal of Planning Research and Education, Urban Studies, Landscape and Urban Planning, Housing Policy Debate, Applied Geography, etc.
