Beginning May 2, 2022, the Staff Council Wellness Committee will re-start the Cross-Campus Walkers club! Join us every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12:30 PM in front of the Recreation & Fitness Center for a half-hour of mild exercise!

Depending on high heat or rain, we may walk on the UNO Recreation & Fitness Center walking track instead of walking around campus. In this case, you��will need��your faculty/staff ID!

Staff Council General Meeting

Staff Council typically meets on the third Thursday of every month. As of now, meetings are being held via Zoom. The link is shared through a campus-wide calendar invitation.

Nominations for Executive Committee members will be requested every April, and elections will be held electronically every May.��For more information about elections and officers, refer to the Officers page or to the Staff Council Bylaws.

Homecoming Second Line Umbrella Contest

Nothing says "celebration" like an iconic second line umbrella! Show of your Privateer Pride by our Homecoming Second Line Umbrella Contest!

Participants must adhere to the following rules:

• Umbrellas must be submitted to the Student Affairs suite in University Center 248��by 4:30 PM on November 6, 2023
• All umbrellas should be decorated to showcase "Privateer Pride" in honor of homecoming week!
• Participants may bring items from home to use as decorations; remember this activity is all about being creative and having fun without incurring unnecessary expenses
• Any materials used on the umbrella must not shed (i.e., any feathers, glitter, etc. must be secure)
• Umbrellas will be on display in the University Center November 7-10, 2023
• Winners will be selected by people's choice and announced at the Homecoming Tailgate on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

"Deck the Doors" Holiday Door-Decorating Contest

Every year, Staff Council hosts the “Deck the Doors” holiday door-decorating contest. Employees and departments are invited to decorate their workspaces to help spread holiday cheer and make the season feel special and fun at 91ֱ��!

Participants must comply with the following rules:

• by��December 4, 2023.
• Finish decorating by��December 11, 2023.
• Do not damage the door or surrounding area. Acceptable adhesive materials include 3M strips or blue painter's tape.
• Do not obstruct or prevent easy access to office spaces.
• Live greenery is permissible in moderation.
• Be creative! Bring items from home to use as decorations or craft things. We want to have fun without incurring extra expenses!

Judging will take place between December 12 and December 15. Judges may not compete in the individual door decorating contest.

Winners will be announced on December 18, 2023. Prizes will be awarded for individuals and for teams/departments.
