How to Register
Registration is easy! Once you have your organization information collected, complete the following steps.
You will need:
- Five (5) current students to be members, including the president and treasurer.
- A campus advisor (a faculty or staff member or graduate student worker/graduate assistant/teaching assistant)
- A constitution
- A signed anti-hazing policy acknowledgement form (and to complete online training in the fall semester)
Step One: Review Relevant Policies
Knowing your rights and responsibilities are important to make sure you're not violating University policy and that you're keeping your members safe.
(Revised March 2023)
In the interest of ensuring our students鈥 safety and in conjunction with the University's Anti-Hazing Policy (AP-AA-32.3), state and federal law, the Office of Student Involvement & Leadership now requires that organizations submit an anti-hazing acknowledgement form as a condition of registration. Sports-related, band, and/or fraternity/sorority organizations will also be required to submit the Anti-Hazing Pledge Form with the signatures of all members of their respective organizations. Review and sign the Anti-Hazing Pledge Form
Anti-Hazing Policy Acknowledgement
Step Two: Submit the (re-)registration paperwork.
Collect contact information (e.g., UNO emails, UNO ID's, phone numbers) and submit the registration form.
Await an approval email from sil@uno.edu. After you've been approved, you're free to enjoy the benefits of being an RSO (Registered Student Organization)!
*Fraternities and Sororities have additional requirements and/or procedures. If you are a Greek letter organization, in addition to these procedures for registration, please be sure your organization has reviewed the Greek Life website for requirements/procedures.
*The five member organization registration requirement maybe waived for NPHC fraternities and sororities. However, when an NPHC organization has no undergraduate members, the NPHC chapter is 鈥渋nactive.鈥 Please contact greeklife@uno.edu to learn more about guidelines for inactive Greek organizations.
Step Three: Attend the President's Leadership Academy
Invitations to the President's Summit will be distributed via UNO email each fall semester.
