In-State Freshmen Requirements

If you are an in-state student applying for freshman admission, you must meet the following requirements for admission:

• Complete the (19 units)

AND

• Minimum 2.0Ìýgrade point average on a 4.0 scale

Additionally, ±õ±·-³§°Õ´¡°Õ·¡Ìýfreshman must meetÌýONEÌýof the following requirements:

1. High School Core GPA:ÌýLouisiana Core 4 curriculum, core GPA of at least 2.5
   
   OR
   Ìý
2. ACT/SAT:ÌýACT composite of at least 23 (1140 SAT)Ìý

Out-of-State & Home School Applicants

If you are an out-of-state of state or home-schooled student applying for freshman admission, you must meet the following requirements for admission:

• Minimum 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale

Additionally, OUT-OF-STATEÌýfreshman must meetÌýONEÌýof the following requirements:

1. Meet the in-state freshman requirements above, including completing all 19 units of the
   
   OR
   Ìý
2. Successfully complete 17 or 18 credits from the Core 4 curriculum with a core grade point average of 2.5ÌýANDÌýhave a 23 ACT Composite (1140 SAT)
   
   OR
   Ìý
3. Minimum 26 ACT Composite.

** All applicants are encouraged to apply. The 91Ö±²¥ may admit students not meeting all requirements. In such cases, the admission decision will be affected by the student's potential for degree completion and the need to enhance the university's demographically diverse student population. Some factors to be considered may include age, experience, ethnic background, and creative talent.

Freshmen applicants (in-state or out-of-state) who do not meet the above test score requirements may be eligible for provisional admission. Students are encouraged to apply to learn more about their eligibility and alternative testing options.
